Playing the Women’s Open at St. Andrews is both a celebration and an honour

(Prague, 21 August 2024) After the Olympic tournament, Klára Davidson Spilková is now headed to the season’s second peak, the Women’s Open held in the birthplace of golf, St. Andrews. The Czech player qualified for the final major of the season, the AIG Women’s Open, based on her ranking in last year’s Ladies European Tour. The prestigious tournament will be played on the iconic Old Course, and it will be Davidson Spilková’s second appearance at this historic venue in her rich professional career. Despite dealing with ongoing issues with her right hip, which have troubled her since the July tournament in the Netherlands, Davidson Spilková is determined to compete.

August is a thrilling ride I am really looking forward to

(Prague, 14 August 2024) – Klára Davidson Spilková has just completed her appearance at the Summer Olympics in Paris. The tournament boosted her confidence and revealed her potential for the next three important tournaments held in August on the Ladies European Tour. Four four-round tournaments, played over four consecutive weeks, will not only be a physical test for her but also the true highlight of the summer and entire season.

LIFE OF A GOLFER: on the Olympics and on running through the airport with a glove in the pocket

(Prague, 15 July 2024)The golf tournament at the Olympic Games is approaching, marking the third time since its reintroduction. Golf had been absent from the Olympic sports for 112 years before making a comeback in Rio de Janeiro, where I was also present. Initially, there wasn’t much interest among the men, with many citing the Zika virus as an excuse to enjoy a week off. Perhaps they later regretted missing out on the tournament and envied Justin Rose, Henrik Stenson and Matt Kuchar for their gold, silver, and bronze medals.

The Olympics are the talk among players in London

(Prague, 2 July 2024) Summer months won’t be a vacation for Klára Davidson Spilková. In the first week, she will compete in a prestigious team tournament in London, then move to the Netherlands, followed by the Olympic Games in Paris. Davidson Spilková will conclude August with three tournaments in Scotland and Ireland, including the last major of the season, the Women’s Open at St. Andrews.

All of us are going to Paris with ambitions

(Prague, 24 June 2024) The biggest domestic women’s golf tournament, the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open in Beroun under the banner of the Ladies European Tour, was not just a great golf spectacle. For Czech players, it was also the last chance to earn points for the Olympic ranking in order to make it into the top sixty and secure a place in the ultimate tournament. Eventually, two golfers will play in Paris under the Czech flag: Klára Davidson Spilková and Sára Kousková.

Home tournament is an honour, joy and a lot of stress

(Prague, 21 June 2024) The home tournament, Tipsport Czech Ladies Open, brings a lot of duties for Czech players, long days on and around the course and extra time dedicated to the media, partners and fans. This year has brought a new and fun duty: a junior pro-am for the best young talents from Czech golf clubs, in which participated all 14 elite Czech golfers of this year’s starting field.

A pair of tournaments marking the pinnacle of the first half of the season for me

(Prague, 13 June 2024) It is said that all roads lead to Rome. And to Beroun. At least, this holds true for Czech professional golfer Klára Davidson Spilková. With these two tournaments, she will conclude the first half of this competitive season: the Ladies Italian Open at Golf Nazionale in Sutri, Italy, and a few days later the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open at Royal Golf Club Beroun. Davidson Spilková skipped the joint tournament of the Ladies European Tour and DP World Tour held last week in Helsingborg, dedicating her time to sponsorship events, training at her home course, PGA National, and a brief rest.

Final rounds give me freedom, ease and confidence

(Prague, 2 June 2024) Just like last week in Évian-les-Bains, where she scored an eagle, the last round of the tournament in Helsingborg saw the best of Czech professional Klára Davidson Spilková. On Sunday, the Czech number one achieved the second-best score of the entire starting field at the Dormy Open, scoring three birdies in a row on the last three holes of both nines in Sweden. Despite starting from one of the last places in the second early-morning group, five strokes under par moved Davidson Spilková up to a tied 21st place.

Curious myself how my game will go

(Prague, 30 May 2024) Czech golf professional Klára Davidson Spilková has achieved her best result this year after finishing tied for the fifth place on the shores of Lake Geneva in Évian, France. As Davidson Spilková commented, the result is a combination of her improved play, a bit of luck with the weather and a return to the confidence of last year.

This year is a struggle with weather and finding consistency

(Prague, 22 May 2024) Czech professional Klára Davidson Spilková is facing her third tournament in a row, followed by three more consecutive tournaments on European soil. Davidson Spilková will complete the first half of the six-tournament stretch with the Jabra Ladies Open in Évian-les-Bains, which also serves as a qualifier for the June major, the Evian Championship. At this venue, which she loves, she played her very first major tournament years ago. The enchanting yet challenging course is situated on the shore of Lake Geneva, within sight of Europe’s highest peak, Mont Blanc.
