Czech professional golfer Klára Davidson Spilková has the last tournament of the Australian mini-series ahead of her. While the first event was completely canceled and the second was shortened to only 54 holes, it seems that the last tournament will be played in full. The Ladies European Tour and Australian WPGA players are waiting for four rounds of the Ford Women’s NSW Open tournament on a public course on the New South Wales coast.
Davidson Spilková commented on the course of the already played, shortened tournament as follows:
“The last few days have not been my best and unfortunately it was also evident during the tournament in Coffs Harbour. I managed the first round with all my strength, but in the second my body did not cooperate as I would have liked. Sometimes things just happen differently than you plan, and not everything is in our power to influence. But that is also part of sport and travel. I take it as an experience from which I will make the most, and I am already looking forward to the next challenges that await me!”
The last long trip within Australia followed: All the players moved south to Sydney for the Ford Women’s NSW Open, after which most of them will go to two tournaments in South Africa.
“We were now moving from Coffs Harbour to the south. It was an eight-hour drive from the last tournament, so we divided the trip into two halves, and here we are. I even played the front nine of the practice round the same day we arrived. That was the most enjoyable part of the trip, stretching out on the course. The course is public, easier and not far from the sea. It is very windy here. Some might say that it is a links course because of the wind from the sea. Success will depend on the right choice of clubs and type of shots, but we are here a little earlier, so there will be enough time to get used to the local conditions.”
Klára Davidson Spilková will start from hole no. 9 at 8.25 am local time in a group with New Zealander Momoka Kobori and Englishwoman Annabell Fuller.
