One of the last tournaments of this year’s Ladies European Tour series, called Hero Women’s Indian Open, will take place in faraway India. Czech professional golfer Klára Davidson Spilková will also participate in the four-round tournament. Even before the player traveled to Delhi, India, she managed to be the face of Friday’s Dobrogolf charity tournament in Olomouc.
“Despite the demanding travel and cold weather, we managed everything perfectly. The tournament in Olomouc was not only a success, but like every year, we also raised enough money and were able to support little Melinka and her family. I am happy that golf this time brought not only the joy of the game, but also help where it is needed. On Saturday, I managed to have a short training session at the PGA National course in Nebřenice, and on Sunday I was flying to Asia, alone this time.”
Davidson Spilková will have to rely on herself and a local caddie she found on the spot at the DLF Golf Country Club in India. She will also have to deal with jet lag and a temperature difference of several dozen degrees.
“It’s challenging to deal with such temperature differences and time difference, but I flew to India on Sunday and had enough time to acclimatize. I haven’t been to Delhi for eight years and I was really looking forward to the course. I know it and I know that it’s a big challenge for everyone. But for me it’s positive – I like this type of course. In addition, it rained here for two days, the course softened and the air cleared up nicely. When we got to practice, there were also local peacocks, which are an integral part of the local park. It was a nice return to a place that I know well. This time I will have a member of the local club as my caddie. We only agreed before the practice round. He is local and you can see that he is on the course every day and knows it very well. We still have Wednesday’s pro-am ahead of us and then we’ll go for it.”
Davidson Spilkova will tee off at 7:25 a.m. local time Thursday and will be joined by Spain’s Blanca Fernández and the Netherlands’ Romy Meekers. For the second round on Friday, she will start from hole no. 10 at 11:55 a.m. The Hero Women’s Indian Open tournament will be played at the DLF Golf & Country Club in Delhi, India, from Thursday, October 9 to Sunday, October 12, 2025, for a prize money of $500,000.
