The first three rounds of the Hero Women’s Indian Open were played brilliantly and she was on the verge of another top 10 finish in a row. That was the position of Czech professional Klára Davidson Spilková after Saturday’s round in Delhi, India. A slight cold with suspected Covid, which had plagued her all week, together with the change of climate and long travel, took its toll on her on Sunday. The result was a tied 25th place, important points for the Order of Merit season ranking, where the golfer is now in 54th place, and an almost certain Ladies European Tour card for 2026. Davidson Spilková said goodbye to the tournament with a good feeling, but also a fever and the knowledge that she would spend the following days in bed after her return. She was not the only one.

“India was quite demanding, both physically and mentally. I wasn’t the only one who got sick during or just after the tournament. It wasn’t a week where everything went smoothly. Still, I’m glad I flew to India and managed everything well. It’s a good feeling to be among the top twenty-five in such difficult conditions and on such a difficult course. I take the result more than positively. I needed to gain points for the Order of Merit ranking for next year and secure a place among the top seventy. When I look back on the season, I see a lot of solid results that give me confidence not only for the final tournament in Malaga, but also for the whole of 2026.”

Davidson Spilková is certain to participate in the final tournament of the LET schedule, the Andalucía Open de España in Malaga, Spain, which will be played in the last week of November. Until then, she will prepare alternately in Prague and Spain, where she would like to play a few local tournaments during October and November to keep up the pace and be ready for the final tournament.

“Now I have to wait to see if I can still qualify for the Aramco series tournament in China, and then I have the final, the Andalucía Open. Until then, I will prepare in Spain, where I would like to play a small tournaments and keep up the pace until the end of the season.”
