After a short stop in the United States, Czech professional Klára Davidson Spilková will this week compete at one of her favourite tournaments, the La Sella Open, in Alicante, Spain. The four-day event will take place in a friendly atmosphere on the La Sella golf resort course, and the players will share a prize fund of one million euros after the final round on Sunday.
“I am really looking forward to the tournament, if only because it is taking place in Spain, where I like to spend time. Today we played a practice round, and the course is beautifully prepared as always. In addition, there is a very good atmosphere here and you can see everywhere how the locals try to support all the players as much as possible and accommodate them. This makes La Sella one of the most popular tournaments on the entire tour.”
Davidson Spilková now has two European tournaments ahead of her and immediately after that, and after a charity tournament in Olomouc, a flight to Asia for an event that she is very familiar with in India.
“Fortunately, after returning from the United States, I managed the time difference and the flight to Spain very quickly. In the week off, I managed not only training, but also a few days of rest. After Spain, I have France and then a tournament in India in October. Whether I will make it to other tournaments in Asia remains to be seen. At the moment, it is important for me to proceed step by step and always fully devote myself to the current tournament.”
Davidson Spilková will start the tournament on Thursday, September 18th from hole no. 10 at 9:26 together with Englishwoman Eleanor Givens and Indian Diksha Dagar.
