Golfer Klára Davidson Spilková will enter her 16th professional season in February. Unlike last year, when her first start was an event in Morocco, this year she will start in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia among an excellent field. The Ladies European Tour has prepared a calendar for its players for 2026, including 30 tournaments on five continents.
“My sweet spot in golf terms is to play twenty tournaments. I will try to keep that plus or minus. It is almost unbelievable that this year I am opening my sixteenth season as a professional. Wow, sixteenth in a row! It leads me to even greater gratitude and humility. To everything that I have experienced thanks to golf, how much I have already managed, where and with whom I have played and what I have experienced thanks to the Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour. I can’t wait for the new season all the more. I know exactly where I am going, and I still love to travel, so I am already looking forward to places I have never been before. To new destinations and new tournaments. It is great that something new is always appearing on the calendar and that the tour represents women’s golf in other parts of the world.”
Two spring swings, Australia and South Africa, have recently become a tradition for Davidson Spilková. That should not change this year either. Immediately after the tournament in Riyadh, she should travel to New South Wales and then to Johannesburg. She plans to return to Europe after nine tournaments, i.e. at the beginning of May, after almost three months of traveling.
“In Australia, we have one more major tournament in the spring swing, which was always played in the fall. It’s great! The Australian Open is one of their most prestigious tournaments with a high purse and with the participation of big stars from all over the world. This time it will be played on the Kooyonga course in Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. This year, the South African swing ends unconventionally with a tournament on the island of Mauritius. That will be a nice change of pace and a nice novelty for all the players. I have never been to Mauritius, and if I can, I would like to visit there. Only after that will I go to Morocco for my favorite tournament, Lalla Meryem, which is played in May this year.”
But it’s not just Mauritius that’s new on the calendar. The Tour will also head to Las Vegas and, mid-year, two major venues: Royal Lytham & St. Annes in Lancashire, England, and The K Club in Dublin.
“I’ve never played at the ancient Royal Lytham & St. Annes in Lancashire, where this year’s British Open will be held. So if I don’t get into the tournament thanks to my ranking, I’d like to at least try to qualify like I did last year for the US Open. I’m also looking forward to playing at the KPMG Open in Ireland at The K Club. This tournament is already a big deal among the players and each of us would love to play there. It’s a great honor to participate in tournaments on courses that have hosted The Open or the Ryder Cup. Just playing in such beautiful places and in clubs with such a long tradition is an exceptional experience.”
If all goes well, Davidson Spilková would like to play the entire season. This year, it will start in mid-February and will most likely end at the end of November. According to her, she plans to play at least twenty tournaments with the main goal of playing everything with the same ease and joy as last year.
“I feel that this year I could use the experience I gained a little more, and at the same time I would like to experience the ease and joy from last year. I would like my body to be healthy, I will still look forward to tournaments and hopefully feel good on the course. I experienced it last year and it is my main goal and wish for this year. If I succeed, I believe that the same good results and overall satisfaction will come with it. The end of the season is still far away and I am just as far from it in my thoughts. Just as I want to take the game shot by shot, I am taking the entire season tournament by tournament and I will enjoy every minute on the course.”
