TRAVELING

Traveling around the world—not just for golf—has become one of my favorite hobbies. Whether it’s for work or leisure with my husband, we love exploring new countries and immersing ourselves in different cultures. Costa Rica, where we spent our honeymoon, Bali, Hawaii, South Korea, and Australia are some of the destinations that have captured our hearts the most.

SPAIN

Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time in the south of Spain. It’s just a short flight away, and I can train and play golf near our home all year round. I love the lifestyle, the cuisine, and the laid-back atmosphere. Spaniards never seem to be in a hurry, yet they always strive to bring out the best in themselves.

BOOKS

I also enjoy reading, especially autobiographies or books about personal development. I’m always on the lookout for new insights that can inspire me or help me grow. However, my all-time favorite book is The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

HOME, SWEET HOME

When I’m in Prague, I enjoy escaping to the Karlštejn area near the Berounka River or heading to the Krkonoše Mountains. I grew up near Karlštejn and hit my very first golf ball there. As for Krkonoše, it’s a place where I always find peace of mind. In general, I love traveling around the Czech Republic—it never ceases to surprise me with something new.

MEDITATION

For over ten years, I’ve been practicing mental exercises and meditation. I also regularly attend meditation retreats, which help me “declutter” my mind and prepare for new challenges. These moments allow me to reconnect with myself and find balance and harmony.

SPORTS

I’m always eager to try new sports. I enjoy swimming, skiing, cross-country skiing, and, not long ago, I even gave ballet a try. You’d be surprised at how physically demanding it is! Exploring different sports not only keeps things exciting but also brings unexpected benefits to my own athletic development.

HEIGHTS

I’m not a fan of heights, and my biggest fears are airplane turbulence and dark corners in unfamiliar cities. I feel most at ease in the sun and wide-open spaces. Surprisingly, though, I don’t mind high mountains or the views down into deep valleys—they’re an exception to the rule.

FOOD

I love food in all its forms—it’s closely tied to my passion for travel and discovering new cultures. How many incredible flavors there are in the world! I’m open to trying anything, but Czech cuisine still holds a special place in my heart. That said, I can never resist Mediterranean, Asian, or Indian dishes, and I also enjoy exploring vegetarian cuisine.

COOKING

My travels have inspired me with countless recipes and ideas. Preparing a delicious Italian pasta, Indian curry, Mexican tortilla, or something from Asian cuisine at home is no challenge for me. I enjoy cooking and certainly don’t see it as a waste of time—it’s a creative way to bring the world into my kitche

BAKING

I don’t bake often, but when I do, I enjoy it all the more. My signature treat is my favorite banana bread—it’s not just delicious but also healthy, and everyone seems to love it. Or at least that’s what they tell me!

PETS

We used to have a Labrador, and one day, when I’m not traveling as much, I’d love to have a dog again. I don’t mind cats either. In fact, we occasionally take care of my brother’s cat, Kevin, and we get along just fine.

MOVIES

My husband and I love watching movies—whether it’s at home, on a flight, or taking the time to attend a movie premiere. We mostly enjoy art films, and our shared favorite is Call Me by Your Name with Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer from 2017.

HIKING

I absolutely love long walks! I don’t mind spending an entire day wandering through the countryside, keeping my eyes open and taking in everything happening around me. It always makes me feel deeply connected to nature again—even though I grew up as a city kid.

CAFÉS

Cafés are my little obsession, no matter where I am. You’ll often find me sitting in one, enjoying a great cup of coffee and maybe reading a book. Lately, I’ve been drawn to trendy hipster cafés that serve cappuccinos or espressos with almond milk.

THE MAN OF MY LIFE

He’s half American, half Italian. Sean works as a professor at Charles University’s Law School in Prague, where he teaches international law, sports law, and legal English. I love visiting his school and soaking up the academic atmosphere. I’ve even been a guest at a few of his lectures, and I always enjoy the experience.
