Klara Davidson Spilkova is the most successful golfer in the Czech Republic. She started her professional career at the age of 16, when she became the youngest player in history to qualify for the Ladies European Tour. She has two victories at LET tournaments (2017,2022) and two participations in the Olympic Games (2016,2021) and she had been playing three years on the most prestigious golf tour – the US LPGA. In 2022, she played both in the Czech Republic and on the LET, EPSON and LPGA world tours at the same time. She has regularly received the award for the best Czech professional golf player for several years.

I have felt the urge to do something for a good cause since I was a child. In fact, I would not be where I am today without the generosity of others. I would never start playing golf and grow as a player, let alone dream of becoming one of the best players in the world. That was back in the days I was still an amateur player and needed the help of others. Then I became professional, still a sixteen-year-old and the youngest player in history, playing with the best European women golfers, and I realized it was time to start giving back to those who had helped me with my time, experience and big heart.
Already in 2011, when I turned professional, various charitable associations and foundations started contacting me. I also had to consider with whom and how I will join my forces and associate my name. Some of these were one-off projects, others I’m still with today. If I were to make a list of all the projects I participated in, it would a very long one. So let me just mention some of those longest and some those that grew close to my heart.
One of the first partners, that I am still with today, was Golf Resort Olomouc and its charity tournament DOBROGOLF. Every year, if my schedule allows it, I love to go back there, if only because of the great people that organize the tournament. If I can’t participate in person, at least I try to help from when I am as much as possible, and I’m always amazed at how much money can be raised at one tournament for a good cause.
I also need to mention my cooperation with the Lymfom Help foundation. It lasted for a beautiful six years, and then the foundation was taken under its wing by the company Bestalent, belonging to Martin Bešt. Today, the brand is known as the TIGA GROUP and it supports young talented golfers. Thanks to Martin and his team, we managed to raise a nice sum of money for patients with lymphoma.
The time that I spent playing with clients has never been a waste of time or duty for me, but rather a joy and an opportunity to meet a lot of good golfers who not only know how to play golf but are also willing to contribute to others in their fight against the insidious disease.
Children also have their place in my calendar. Whether it was those from the Racek children’s home in Benešov or those from the Jedlička Institute in Prague in cooperation with the Czech Olympic Committee. I will never forget the joy in the eyes of the needy children as they are unwrapping their gifts.
I also decided to associate my name, and not only my golf activities, with the ALSA association. I value dearly how they help, advice and connect everyone who is not indifferent to the issue of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It is a unique project that took on the task of building a specialized centre for ALS patients. They set themself a challenging goal, and that’s something I can appreciate.
It is impossible to put a number on all the activities in which I have participated since 2011, perhaps just the amounts raised in the projects I was involved in.
The life of a professional athlete is not just tournaments or events for partners. Most of us dedicate a lot of our free time to those who need help or to a good cause whenever we get an opportunity.
