La Finca 2024

January 31st, 2025

After a short medical break, the most experienced Czech golfer, Klára Davidson Spilková, is returning to the European elite. After almost five months away from competition, she will appear among the top players at the Ladies European Tour tournament called the Lalla Meryem Cup, in Rabat, Morocco, where she won her first professional title in 2017.

For the year 2025, Davidson Spilková is guaranteed to participate in the first six tournaments based on the medical exemption she received. Her goal is to return to the top 70 in the Order of Merit 2024, which would keep her playing card for this year. This would guarantee her participation in most European events this season.

“In the end, suspending the season in September 2024 turned out to be the best possible decision. It gave me a chance to recover sufficiently, and especially to work on the problem with my right hip. I also had enough time to put a lot of things in order and relax a bit after completing my fourteenth year of professional golf. I devoted the first three months mainly to rehabilitation and strengthening exercises. I only started on-course training in the second half of the medical break and I played very well. I felt good physically, and in addition, the passion to play and the desire to win have reawakened in me. Those five months without the pressure of tournament golf helped me play with more ease than before. The medical break only strengthened my belief that you need to take things as they come, accept them and be able to cope with them. At the same time, I am grateful for all the life lessons that this journey has brought me.”

Davidson Spilková also managed to test her form recently. In the second half of January, she took part in a Spanish Winter Miniseries tournament in Marbella.

“It was nice to be on the course again and experience the tournament atmosphere. I know that my game is moving in the right direction and that I am getting back up to speed, which is the most important thing before the upcoming tournament in Morocco. I’m happy with the game again and I’ve gained the much-needed reassurance that everything is going as it should. My husband Sean will not only be with me at the Lalla Meryem tournament, but also the Aramco Series in Saudi Arabia. I am very happy about it. Just the fact that he will be with me after the break will be a great psychological support.”

Davidson Spilková will play the mentioned six tournaments in the course of two months. In addition to the event in Morocco, which starts on Thursday, February 6, and in Saudi Arabia a week later, she will participate in three tournaments in Australia, and then one in Johannesburg, South Africa, at the beginning of April.
