Four months of traveling ahead, but close to home

Prague, 15 May 2024 – After a short planned trip to South Korea, the anticipated European part of the Ladies European Tour is set to begin, Czech professional Klára Davidson Spilková plans to play in most of the tournaments. Her European tour will start in Berlin and continue through Évian-les-Bains, Helsingborg and Rome, culminating in Beroun in front of her home crowd at the end of June.

“I really enjoyed the trip to Korea and the course there, and I’m glad I flew to the Aramco tournament before Europe. It was a completely different game, which, as it turned out, might not suit everyone. Especially around and on the greens, which were not only very fast but also rugged. Also, it was very windy the last day and a half. Anyway, I gained a lot of experience and I’m satisfied with the result, especially after almost four weeks without competitive golf. But I felt good in my game, which is the best realization before the European part of the series,“ the player commented on her performance in the Korean tournament.

Golfers had little time to transition, and most of them travelled from Seoul directly to the venue of the next tournament, Berlin. Davidson Spilková, however, managed to make a stop in Prague and only travelled to Germany with her husband Sean on Tuesday afternoon.

“I suddenly feel like I’m home again. Whether it’s Germany, France, Sweden, Italy, or even the British Isles. The best part of the year is ahead of me. I won’t have to deal with time zone changes until September. It will four months of traveling, but relatively close to Prague. Moreover, there will be six Czechs in the starting field in Berlin, including the defending champion, and as a bonus, Sandra Gal [a German player of Czech origin] is back after a short break, which is great,” the professional is looking forward to the start of the European part of the tour.

“We were allowed to the course on Tuesday, and I only managed to play it on Wednesday at the pro-am tournament. It’s supposed to be very windy, so we’ll see how we do. It will be a big challenge for all of us, but I am certain this will be a successful week,” the golfer said before the tournament.

Davidson Spilková starts on Thursday in the morning group from the first tee at 9:10. She will be accompanied for the first two rounds by local Sophie Witt and Indian Diksha Dagar. The starting field also includes defending champion Kristýna Napoleaová, Sára Kousková, Jana Melichová, Tereza Melecká, Tereza Koželuhová, and the aforementioned Sandra Gal.
